The Story
If you read my About page, then you know I discovered a job in publishing because of a TV show. As I made my way into publishing and eventually into the roles I’d always dreamt about, I started giving informational interviews. I both loved and hated them. I loved it when someone was genuinely curious and wanted to learn. I hated it when someone was so obviously just trying to “network” without actually having a real conversation. After a while, I got a little burnt out and pulled back from doing them, but I still wanted a way to share what I’d learned on a larger scale. Enter Office Hours.
I kept thinking there were so many people interested in publishing, and most of the time they thought the only job was being an editor. But I’d spent years working alongside marketers, designers, publicists, and production managers that were every bit as passionate about books. Office Hours became a way to spotlight the people I genuinely admired while introducing different career paths to people who never knew those jobs even existed.

What We Built
I developed the idea and creative brief, then partnered with 1021 Creative (shoutout to Alex, Carly, and Bridgette!) to bring it to life. I executive produced the series, outreached to talent, and gave creative feedback on every edit.
Did I mention our biggest challenge? We filmed the entire thing in 2020 during Covid while we were all working from home. Our team figured out a completely new production process. We directed talent over Zoom, had everyone capture footage themselves, and somehow pulled together an eight-episode series that still felt personal, polished, and intimate.
